CarbonX Appoints Former Tesla and White House Policy Leader Rohan Patel to Advisory Board

CarbonX BV is honored to announce that Rohan Patel, former Vice President of Policy at Tesla and senior White House official during the Obama Administration, has joined the company’s Advisory Board.

“With Mr. Patel’s extensive experience in global policy and deep understanding of Electric Vehicle and U.S. regulatory landscapes, his guidance will be invaluable as we establish ourselves as a supplier of quality materials into U.S. Giga factories and navigate U.S. policy, battery-manufacturing regulations, and emerging tariff frameworks,” said Rutger van Raalten, CEO of CarbonX.

 Mr. Patel joins CarbonX at a pivotal moment as the company accelerates its growth within the U.S. battery value chain. “The team is strong, the technology is proven, U.S. capacity is established and Tier-1 cell manufacturers in the U.S. are taking notice,” Patel said.

Rohan Patel Bio

Rohan was most recently the Vice President of global public policy and business development at Tesla, where he served on the executive leadership team reporting to the CEO. Mr. Patel oversaw regulatory, policy and business development efforts for Tesla. Previously, he was special assistant to President Barack Obama and senior advisor for climate and energy policy, where he worked on a range of power sector and transportation policies in addition to being the President Obama’s liaison with state and local government officials. Rohan also served as associate director at the White House Council on Environmental Quality, overseeing climate change and conservation issues. Prior to his appointment, he spent two years on the Obama presidential campaign in a number of leadership roles and has also served on the staffs of Iowa Governor Chet Culver and Indiana US Senator Evan Bayh. Currently Rohan lives in Kensington, Maryland and is advising companies and nonprofits tackling decarbonization all over the world.
